19" Rack Mount 12-Port 10/100 Base-T Cat5 Lightning Surge Protector - RJ45

The RMSP-CAT5S-12 provides protection for up to 12 CAT5 data lines. The unit is fully compatible with industry-standard 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks, providing protection to both Ethernet data pairs as well as the PoE power feed. The unit supports both 802.3af modes A and B supplying power.

Power can be fed up the CAT5 data pairs, 1-2, 3-6 or using the two unused pairs, 4-5, 7-8. Each module supports both AC and +/- DC power. The RMSP-CAT5S-12 features shielded RJ45 jacks for use with of shielded CAT5 cable.

High-speed semiconductors clamp any voltage, positive or negative on the wires. The limits are +/- 58 volts on the fthis cable pairs. The unit is compatible with both normal and inverted polarity voltage PoE equipment. The design utilizes Thyristor diode technology which has superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Avalanche diode based designs.

The 2U rack panel features a clean, system wide mounting of the circuit protectors and may be installed in the rear of the 19 inch rack where they are normally required for line in and out. The individual protector modules are field replaceable.
